Vocal Opportunities |

It's one thing to be a singer, but an entirely different thing to be a WORSHIPPER. While we are out to get people involved, we also realize that to sing a song from your heart, you have to LIVE IT. Because God alone is our audience, we always strive to offer
|
up excellence, and we do everything we can to prepare beautiful music. When we gather to worship, our preparations give way to our testimony, so that the Message is more important - more than the messenger or the medium.

Singers Sunday |
|
|
This monthly event is a great way to try us out! On this designated Sunday each month, willing worshippers pack the choir loft! Two weeks prior to each Singers Sunday date, rehearsal CDs are available. Attendance at Wednesday rehearsals is NOT REQUIRED for participation in the monthly Singers Sunday, so singers are empowered
|
to practice on their own, or join us in Wednesday evening rehearsals. On the designated Singers Sunday, all singers meet in the loft at 8:30a (before the A service) and/or at 10:15a (before the B service) for a mass worship rehearsal. Singers Sunday is open to all vocalists as a one-time, monthly commitment based on their availability.

Praise Team |
|
|
Serving on assigned rotation, these singers sing on microphones in trio voice combinations in front of the Choir. The format is one person per vocal part, so every participant must be musically prepared, and their forward placement as worship leaders compels them to
|
model positive expression and good stage presence. Praise Teams rehearse Wednesdays 8:00 - 9:00p and Sundays 8:30 - 9:00a (before A service) and 10:15 - 10:45a (before B service). Praise Team participants must complete the Calvary Church Ministry Application.

Choir |
|
|
Participation in weekly Choir is open to vocalists, middle school age and older. Available singers meet, rehearse and fellowship each week on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:45p in Worship & Arts Family Group. Rehearsal CDs are provided each week, and are also available to those who want to participate, but cannot attend the
|
Wednesday rehearsal sessions. Weekly Choir participates every week in the B service (Sundays at 10:45a). Singers are asked to complete a Calvary Church Ministry Application. Heavy emphasis is placed on worship leadership and aggressive stage presence so that the Message is communicated effectively each and every week.

Live! on the Levee |

On
Sunday, September 26, 2004, the people of Calvary Church came together to
exalt Christ through a live worship event. The result was a CD recording that
continues to impact our church and community. Calvary Church is a gathering of
enthusiastic worshippers, and we are a people who ANTICIPATE God's
|
promised
presence and PARTICIPATE in the celebration each and every week. It is our
prayer that God will be adored and magnified by the sacrifice we offer up
