Passion Play 2008: Angels Among Us |
|
|
An unexpected miracle. An unexplained moment. An unimaginable mystery. These days, it has become rather popular to believe in angels, even in circles where it remains an embarrassment to believe in God. But the presence and work of these heavenly beings is not all wispy and mysterious. They bring real strength and solutions into divinely orchestrated events. They are mighty warriors with the skills of highly-trained military personnel. Their assignments are real and planned, and they have been busy for centuries. The angel who moved a two foot thick rock from the opening of a tomb in the first century could be the same one who stands guard at a dying man's bedside in 2008. Join us for The Passion Play at Calvary Church and discover the ANGELS AMONG US.

Passion Play |
|
|
Each year, under the direction of producer Dr. David Evans,
over 200 cast, choir and crew work to present The
Passion Play at Calvary Church. In a unique approach to this
traditional concept, the Biblical account of Jesus' life, death and
|
resurrection is paralleled with a modern story line. Roles are
available for speaking, non-speaking, and large group cast, and are assigned
by the producer. Rehearsals begin January/February. Performances are Palm
Sunday weekend.

Dinner Theatre |

Each fall, director Ken Mitten leads an auditioned cast in the
presentation of a secular play with family appeal. Auditions are open to the
community and usually occur in May. Previous shows have included Every Little Crook and Nanny
|
by Peter Cook; Fools by Neil
Simon; The Duck Variations by David
Mamet; and The Bald Soprano by
Eugene Ionesco. Rehearsals begin middle to late summer. Performances are
usually the last weekend of September.
